As we all know, container level measurement and control is one of the most common instrument automation applications in the chemical production process. It is not only related to the smooth operation of the process and safe production, but also essential to the control of product quality and output. There are many kinds of level measuring instruments, such as ultrasonic, static pressure, resistance rotation, radio frequency admittance and so on. In catalyst production, the working conditions of some storage tanks are more complicated. For example, there are many unfavorable factors for level measurement such as dust, steam, fouling, stirring, etc., resulting in high failure rate of traditional level meters, large maintenance, and online maintenance. Difficulty, short period of use, and unsatisfactory measurement results.

In order to solve such problems, the R&D technicians of Xi'an Dechuang Electric Technology Co., Ltd. have conducted a lot of explorations. With the development of science and technology, high-frequency non-contact radar level meters have emerged, which can be used for various chemical plants. A variety of chemical products, such as high temperature and high pressure, highly corrosive acid and alkali solutions, toxic products (liquid chlorine), urea melt in compound fertilizer plants, ammonia crystal products, phthalic anhydride, etc., realize effective measurement. Xi'an Dechuang Electric Technology Co., Ltd. summarized and analyzed the application of the radar level gauge independently developed and produced by our company through the materials investigated on site.

1. The composition of radar level gauge

Radar level meter is mainly composed of antenna, transmitting and receiving device, signal processor, operation panel, display and so on.

2. The principle of radar level gauge

The radar level antenna emits narrow microwave pulses, which are transmitted downward through the antenna. After the microwave touches the surface of the measured medium, it is reflected back and received by the antenna system again, and the signal is transmitted to the electronic circuit part and automatically converted into a level signal (because the microwave propagation speed is very fast, the electromagnetic wave reaches the target and is reflected back to the receiver. The time used is almost instantaneous). The radar level gauge adopts the above-mentioned advanced echo processing and data processing technology, and the radar wave itself has the characteristics of high frequency and good penetration performance. Therefore, the radar level gauge has better performance than the contact level gauge and similar non-contact materials. Better performance of the position meter.

3. Features of radar level gauge

(1) Continuous and accurate measurement under severe conditions

The radar-type level gauge is not affected by temperature, pressure, or gas, and has no contact with the surface of the medium. It can quickly and accurately measure the level of different media.

(2) Simple operation and convenient debugging

Output 4-20MA two-wire analog signal. The low and high limits of the range can be set through the panel buttons, and the echo curve can be viewed through the LCD screen. The parameters can be changed with the HART Communicator. It can also be connected to a computer through the RS232 HART communication module, and the internal parameters of the radar level gauge can be adjusted through the upper software.

(3) Accurate measurement

The radar level gauge sends and receives microwave pulses 55 times per second. The average value of the processor is used to accurately detect the echo generated by the real material level surface, and the time difference is calculated to convert the radar level gauge flange plane to The distance from the real material level surface, because the range (ie the height of the empty tank) is known, the real material level height can be obtained by subtracting the distance from the radar level gauge to the material surface by the range.

(4) Safe and reliable

The radar meter adopts Lv Zhu's integrated waterproof and explosion-proof enclosure, and the protection level meets the protection level requirements of the international standard IP67. After the finished product is debugged, the board surface is coated with 1mm thick three-proof paint, and after it is installed inside the shell Then seal with resin glue, completely achieve the purpose of waterproof, moisture-proof and explosion-proof.

(5) No maintenance required and strong reliability

The radar level gauge is easy to install and debug. There are buttons on the panel to view the echo curve, and it can store, modify and update false echoes online. When measuring the solid material level, the universal flange is used, and the direction of the bell mouth can be adjusted at will. Through the LCD screen, you can see the signal strength of the echo very intuitively. By adjusting the direction of the bell mouth to find the strongest return signal of the material level, only the strongest return signal can ensure the continuous and stable operation of the radar level gauge, and the service life of the radar can reach more than 10 years.

In terms of product reliability: all finished equipment installed must undergo 72 hours of high temperature aging at 80°C and low temperature aging at -40°C. Do vibration experiments for more than 2 hours on the vibration test bench. Ensure the reliability of the equipment. Before leaving the factory, it has to go through a detailed inspection of 30 performance indicators to ensure that each radar level meter is a qualified product.
