                                               Tips on Model Selection of Radar Liquid Level Meter  -Guided wave radar  and 26GHz radar level meter


When we select the suitable model of radar level meter, below attentions should be paid on mixing, vacuumizing, power supply and output signal during model selection of radar liquid level meter.

I. Model selection on mixing(stirring)

Guided wave radar can not be used in mixing tank because mixing strength apt to bring rope into propeller or stretch the rod-type guided wave radar, non-contact measurement high frequency or low frequency horn radar is selected.

If the lowest liquid level exceeds the mixing propeller, measurement is not be impacted. If the lowest liquid level is below the the mixing propeller, it should study the fake echo to filter the signal reflected by propeller and ensure measurement not as propeller target.

II. Model selection on vacuum 

Liquid boiling point will be much lower than the standard atmospheric pressure under the condition of vacuum. Liquids from 30℃ to 40℃ start to boil, especially reactor and vaporator. In case of vacuumizing, liquid becomes calm, and vacuumized from 1m to 3m height, with boiled bubble and small water drop. The horn radar is only selected under the condition and made some changes on site.

III. Power supply and input signal

24VDC is used for radar power supply in the market. If users require 220VAC, 220VAC, there are 4-20ma and 485 power input signal. 4-20ma is dominated for wide industrial application.  a few users use 485 for low power consumption occasion on hydrology and water conservancy, torrential flood warning, etc.
